Demo availability [solved]

Hello everyone,

I've been working at new tech research in broadcasting+recording company and I would like to properly test compatibility on various hardware and audio interfaces,
once I open CCC, it lets me download and install various Sonar types (Artist, Professional, Platinum), but latest version is "Kingston Update 1 (21.10.0.32)" which is probably more than half year old and no new version available to test :/

any help appreciated, thanks in advance

Hi. Are you using the latest CCC? http://www.cakewalk.com/Command-Center
If so, click on the gear icon (top right), and click check now.
If that does not help, try to logout and log back into CCC. Hope it helps.
    All the best.
Edit: The latest version is: 2016.04

    yes I'm using latest CCC,
checked for updates, logged out/in CCC,
even removed registry keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Command Center
but no help, still CCC shows "Latest version: Kingston Update 1 (21.10.0.32)"

Could the time and date on your pc be wrong? That is the only thing I can think of now. If that is not it, someone with more knowledge will hopefully come and help you.
    Best of luck.

date and time is correct, only thing I can think of is Windows 10 (insider build 14332.1001),
but even when I tried completely uninstalling everything which had Cakewalk in name, still CCC shows Kingston available only, it's a little weird that I can get Z3TA+ 2.2.2 which is supposed to be march 2016 release then why all Sonar versions show Kingston only,
if CCC makes such unreliable way of maintaining licenses, then I'm afraid it's not suitable for our enterprise use :/

Strange! I have not heard about this before. My licences are correct, and have been (at least) since the latest CCC.
Did you use these instructions when doing a fresh install? https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013392/SONAR-2015-Clean-Install-Instructions
    All the best.
Edit: Your license has not expired?

I am talking about Demo version, I am not aware of any expiration date, just inability to save/export anything,
followed that guide, thanks for it I forgot to clean wow64 node before :))
but even after all that, I still see only Kingston update as latest version of Sonar (doesn't matter if Artist, Pro or Platinum) in CCC,
it seems really misleading to read "try any version of Sonar" on Cakewalk page while I actually can't even test any recent build

I am so sorry! I should read more carefully.
Did you use the "fresh install" instructions from Cakewalk? I am not sure why this is happening, except maybe something in the registry is preventing updates. Hope you get it figured out.
    All the best.

im not sure but it is possible cakewalk is not handing out up to date versions of platinum to Demo users at this time.
i believe you would be able to get a great idea how platinum works just by downloading the Kingston update.
its only a few months old. is that really that bad ?

but i can confirm as i am installing the latest version as of right now with no problems at all.

my only advise is to not base an opinion because of the software "version" that you are allowed to download at this point.

when it says Try any version of sonar: im not sure it means what you want it too. (latest update)
it means any version (Artist, Pro or Platinum) not misleading at all. i just think you might be mis understanding the message.

    good luck

whoa success! today I logged in the PC and CCC and it shows the 2016.04 builds! :)
thanks for your help and patience Zargg, glad to meet friendly cakewalk community,
Chuckebaby, to explain a bit more what I need demo(s) for - the broadcasting company has over 20 stations, which means roughly 50 studios, those are obviously equipped by different gear for various creation and maintained by multiple people so it's crucial to test specific configurations to be reliable (for ex. we've been having problems with RME MADIFaceXT crashing ProTools 11.3 which proven to be AVID fault), it's a long run so we usually start testing things different versions than we finally use, and honestly we cannot afford to brainlessly roll updates forward (same applies for even operating systems, that's why I'm testing the Windows10 Insider Builds as well)
[edit] and I am definitely going to participate in Cakewalk analytics available in new builds, I believe Sonar is among the very top daws nowadays ;)
