Hey -- this is a great sounding demo of your song -- I like the sound of your voice and the effects you have on it.  The drums are cracking and the guitars have a crisp ringing pop-rock tone that I like very much.  A good listen  !!

    Hi Anders!

Nice tune with some cool ideas. I particularly like the feel at 2:10 or so. Some thoughts:

    • Does the bass have a reverb on it? It sounds kind of boomy. I think removing the reverb and maybe using a short (very short) delay for ambiance would really tighten up the low end and rhythm section.
    • The snare sounds very small. Some EQ adjustments there could be useful, as well as raising the level a bit.
    • The solos are buried by the guitar.
    • Vocals sound great the way they are.

    Regards,
    Dan

    Hi Dan.

Appriciate you take the time to listen, and give some feedback.

Base does actually not have any reverb on it. Its a singletrack with a Vintage Flatwound B15 Amp, with a Envelope filterbox. I did however make a cloned track and with a slight "nudge" to create a delay. Maybe a little too much?

About the sologuit. Buried? (sorry for my ignorance) Could you please elaborate a bit?

Again, thanks for listening. Really appriciate constructive feedback.

Buried in the mix by the rhythm guitar. As in, I found it blended into the background too much.

Right. :-)  Always hard to get right ammount of distiction. Also sounds different on each unit/stereo/headset you play it on.

    Thanks again.

Good song!  I think it has all the right elements, but for me, the mix could use a few tweaks...   I'd like to hear the drums punchier (and with a touch more reverb) to better match the bass which is nicely thick, just a little less slapback on the lead vocals, and a gentle lift on the lead guitar (a panned delay might be cool).   All subjective of course!

Vocals are coming through just great, but I'd also just reduce the slapback - just - a little. I can hear slapback is an integral part of the sound.

Your background vocals in the chorus (bridge?) section are just killer! Are you using "chorus" on them? How are you getting that cool "silky" feel to your bgv's?

Absolute necessity, bring that snare up and out, or perhaps replace it with another snare - what are you using for drums?

Your song has a nice groove and feel to it, well done.

Hi Tom, and first of all thank you for your feedback.

I get the "snare up" part. Especially later in the song. Will look into that. As you say, maybe try a different snare. I use addictive 2 btw.

In the backingvocals I have used no Chorus. Made 3 layers/tracks all recorded separately in different octaves. Just fine tuned with EQ on each track, and sent them to a BUS with BREVERB 2. (A capella vox - HALL)

    Thanks again.
