When posting pictures...

...from a hosting sight, It displays fine until I log out. When I come back but don't log in the image is replaced with a "no image found" icon:

I've tried refreshing the page but only after I log in and also log into my hosting sight will the image display again.

Which site are you using? Many web sites have the ability to require log-in to access files, even with a direct link to it. This is often at a folder level, but if a commercial site, it may also have an option to set an image as "public," so a direct link can access it from anywhere. If it is a site you own, the best route is to contact the host administrator and ask; if it is not yours, search for options within a "management" section for that image and see if there is a "make public" or similar option.

I usually use tinypic.  Haven't seen my pics disappear with that (yet)

I use OneDrive. I have a "public" folder I upload pics to.

To make things worse MS is always changing how one makes these public or private which may be the issue. OTOH others seem to be able to see my posted pics even when I can't.

If someone would like to verify this, please check my other post here and let me know what they see.

    Thanks.

That link comes up as blank, but I recall seeing that post before and the picture was fine (very nicely done as well BTW). But, something occurred to me in this situation, as it has also happened to me once before. As you edited that post, I have had it happen when I left the forum post intact, but replaced the picture that it was linked to (identical name), the link in the forum suddenly did not work. I.e., I replaced the linked picture only and the forum link then failed.

In that situation, I actually had to upload a replacement picture with a new name, and edit the forum post with a newly created link. I am not sure what mechanics that were going on to cause this, but is worth a try.

Turns out OnDrive no longer supports direct links to files stored there. One can only provide a link to the file.

I now use photobucket for direct links.

Hi. I have been using imgur the last year or so, and have not had a single problem since. Do not know what the storage limitations is, though.
    All the best.
