First thing today... Was running fine yesterday I believe after applying the latest early release...
Opening the about box shows legal and paid until next year, but the Demo mode warning keeps popping up...
I have no internet in the studio today so CCC won't run... So I can't try a rollback...
What might I do? I'm supposed to be working today...
Thanks...
It does say to contact support, but that machine has no internet right now... Who/how to try?
I guess my first time calling (this year) for support will try the new system... <sigh>...

I had the demo mode message a couple of days ago (if my memory serves me right, but could be longer), but it was regarding Melodyne, and SONAR. Both were in demo mode. I contacted support, and was told to reboot, or just restart SONAR. IIRC, I had to do this at least twice before the demo mode disappeared when starting SONAR. Do not know if this helps or not. All the best. Edit: Did you do any win updates lately, which could have caused it? Totally corrupted Sonar and said it wasn't installed properly. Only thing that worked for me was to go to windows restore and restored to the point before the early release I have not reinstalled the early release and am back on Newbury Answer Helpful Report AbuseForward Quote #3 stonehedgestonehedge Max Output Level: -87 dBFS Re: Suddenly stuck in Demo mode... Melodyne shortcut on the desktop also had a broken link and I had to go into programs and drag a new shortcut to the desktop. That happened the next day again with melodyne. Though I have Melidyne 4 installed I don't use it. I can't afford the upgrade and the lite version is missing tools I need and have in v-vocal...
Has anyone bugged this up? I'm paid for the year and it was working fine after the build 71 update... Until the machine was turned off and then started again (just like a re-boot)
More re-boots didn't help though for a moment it came out of Demo mode then quickly returned...
Talked with support... Drove 30 minutes to get wifi and did an offline activation... Which didn't work... So then deleted some CCC files, restarted Sonar and it accepted the offline activation...
I'm working now but nervous about the next time the machine is turned off...

Sorry to hear that. Were there any error codes appearing? Glad support got it resolved. We are continuing to make improvements in that area so it will be more robust in the offline/restarting/bootup case. Keith

I panicked and didn't write them down unfortunately thinking it was just an early release bug. After numerous reboots with same demo mode problem. It then failed attempts to rollback sonar to Newbury and would not sonar boot at all. It kept finding numerous missing dll files. My only recourse was to use system restore to before the early release (where I am now running) I suspect that the early release attempted to install a microsoft c++ or visual package that didn't like my system as it has had no windows updates since I built it in the summer of 2012 You folks would of course know that possibility better than I I have not attempted to try again. Any ideas

Ironically when the original demo mode event happened, all was running fine. I had just experimented in dragging a melodyne clip to the tempo map and checking the results. A client dropped in and I saved and closed that project. I returned an hour later, opened sonar and the problem began.

well, it happened to me last night - DEMO MODE - for the first time ever and right at the start of a session damn, I was really p****d as it took me 20 minutes to get it out of DEMO MODE by rebooting, starting CCC, launch Sonar, no change, try again ... I was experiencing a poor connection when I had fired up CCC to check for updates in order to install the instrument collection cause Sonar was already on 22.3.0.71 ... I had to kill CCC when it got stuck downloading due to no proper connection and then the trouble started ... so I believe CCC is to blame here (it also had some troubles recognizing the already downloaded files as valid which I had literally minutes before installed on my mobile DAW)

I am currently fully up to date with everything on the DAW (win7, Sonar, 3rd party plugs) as I just completed the sort of quarterly update madness ;-)

well, there it happens again: "You are currently running in Demo Mode due to a problem with activation. Please contact support." This time backup DAW, perfect internet connection ... this is getting annoying Edit: back to normal after restart, but I've never seen this before 2016.03 / CCC update

IT IS NOT!!!!! I have started to record video about how good you can use Controllers with this pro.... collection of bugs. Everything was ok, internet ok, my controller installed, new project, one empty track added, second empty track added, third empty track added,.... BUM "Demo mode! contact support". I have never seen that before. Screen casting stopped, video recording stopped, Sonar restart. Everything is fine now! 2016.04, status: owned. And now sorry, I am not going to write what I now think about this "product" and this "company". "Contact support"... are you kidding? YO DO NOT HAVE REAL TIME SUPPORT! It is optim... removed completely to save costs instead of making it 24/7, especially since you put demo mode activator which works 24/7!

Alexey, what error codes appeared if any? That obviously should not be occurring. I know that's frustrating and I'm sorry about that. We will address this but I need more info please, thanks. Also, demo mode should not be happening once the session has started up and you've been able to save. In the interim, I will investigate. Keith

Hi Keith, there was some (simple) code number in the pop-up... But I was so p.o. that I have just closed everything. May be other can give more info (as you can see I am not alone with that, using the latest update). I can only add the Sonar was "hanging" for several seconds before that has happened (I was adding tracks so I have noticed that freeze).
