Unable to register DLL/OCX Platinum Install

I'm trying to install Platinum 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit and I'm getting the "Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3" error on certain files.  I tried the fixes recommended by Cakewalk (see link) but they didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

AFAIK, it is a Windows update problem. Once windows is properly updated, the error goes away. Here is a related thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3393632

Update: As of now, Windows appears to be done with updates, it's showing a total of 247 installed, but I'm still getting the error. I also tried the utility that scook mentioned. ???

Yeah - Windows Updates are like layers of an onion - you put a batch on, then you have to run Windows Update again, to see if the patches you just applied have any patches to THEM.  So, another layer gets applied, and you have to keep repeating this until it truly says there aren't any more.

BUT, things sure have been STABLE for me, with Sonar Platinum.  I run Windows 8.1 for a little longer, then will upgrade to Windows 10.  I run with all critical and important Windows updates applied, and have moved to a completely 64-bit collection of 3rd-party plugins, on a decent computer.  Sonar has been ROCK solid for me for a long long time now.  (as opposed to many nightmares trying to use Sonar 8.5.3 on a Windows XP desktop with 32-bit Windows).

    Good luck with it all,

What I would be trying is uninstall, reboot, then reinstalling "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable (x64)" - obtaining the download from the link below..
