Sonar thinks it knows what my input should be

All of a sudden, don't know why, I can't record anything into a Midi track. I have always set the input for Midi tracks to None, which Sonar interprets as Omni, which works for my Midi controller every time. Now all of a sudden, it changes it to something else whenever I hit Record. Sometimes it's Something called AllInputsOmni (different from Omni - if for no other reason than it doesn't record now), and I've seen it sometimes change the input to my MidiSport. I checked Midi Devices in Preferences and everything is checked as normal. I'm trying this on an empty default test project,, but I'm seeing it in my real projects which is why I'm even testing it.

What did I do now? Mind you, I'm pretty impatient with Sonar today as this is coming after 90 minutes of adjusting back pans and levels that I inadvertently adjusted in Offset Mode.

Speculating that this is the result of Cakewalk fixing long standing bugs (the MIDI "crosstalk" bug). "None" equating to "Omni" never made sense except as a convenience. FWIW it seems to work correctly here (exclusively soft synths though, but several midi controllers). I generally set each track to the input corresponding to the midi controller I am recording from and it seems to work repeatably. I think with the fixes it may take same learning/patience/diligence to ensure more specificity in which input to use.
