Addictive Drums 2 Reverted to Demo Mode!! (Solved)
I've had Addictive Drums 2 since I purchased AD2 wit hSonar Platinum back in December of 2015. every thing was working find and i loved working with AD2. Today I received a prompt that Windows 10 was requiring me to perform ans update. I updated Windows 10 and when the computer restarted and Ipened Sonar Platinum and inserted AD2 and received the following message. Wrong Computer ID Possible Problem with Authorization Please make sure that your host is not run in compatibility mode. If this is not the case, run the XLN Audio Online installer to authorize and likewise check that it is not run in compatibility mode. I received the same message when I attempted to run Addictive Keys as well. I checked the properties on each Addictive.exe file for AD2, AD Keys and AD installer and none of them were in Compatibility mode. I searched the XLN help and support site and find the resolution below. ========================== My product is suddenly not authorized - "Wrong Computer ID" or "Instrument in trial mode"If a product suddenly goes to trial mode, it means that something in your computer triggered a change in the Computer ID (perhaps a software or hardware update). This in turn deauthorizes your product. This is easy to fix: Login to your user account and go to My Account -> My Computers Remove your current computer and then run the XLN Online Installer and re-register it. After that the software should be properly authorized. If it's still not working (and you're on a Windows computer) then it is possible that you are running your DAW in compatibility mode, which interferes with the authorization. Right-click on the DAW icon -> Properties -> Compatibility tab. Then deactivate Compatibility mode if activated and try again. Do the same for the Online Installer. THIS WORKED !!! I received a new computer ID from XLNAudio for my products and they all work.

Yep, the computer ID that AD2 computes based on your configuration changes when enough stuff in the OS is modified so the ID they have at the home office doesn't match what AD2 computes when you start it up. The fix is easy. Just run the XLN control panel thingy and remove the configuration it thinks is your computer, then add a new one. It'll recompute and you're done. Hope this helps. Oops, just saw that you got it going!

A lot of you missed the part where I said I went to the XLNAudio site and logged into my account and clicked -> My Computers I removed my current computer and then re-ran the XLN Online Installer and re-register it. After that, the software was properly authorized again but with a new Computer ID number was given. i was just offering someone the answer in case it happened to them.

It might be more clear if the subject contained [Solved] or some other clue the post is about a solution rather than a post about AD2 going into demo mode.

Thanks for the info Jessie G!! My computer did its Windows 10 "FORCED" (at gunpoint) upgrade this morning (which I think I found a way to stop...we will see) and sure enough, I got the same message. I've spent the last 2.5 hours trying to figure it out when, you know, I COULD have been making music. Thanks, Microsoft, for making our lives that much more difficult, not to mention the hour and 10 minutes it took to upgrade and was also taken from my life. If it's working, please leave s#!t alone from now on, would ya please? Genius work, dude!!!! Thanks again for posting this. It was incredibly helpful and saved me much valuable time.

This happened to me this morning. I removed my desktop on the xln installer and then added it and that worked. I have to find where compatibility mode is to turn it off or at least check what's going on there. Michael
