The Stone Roses' new single - my in depth review

Huge fanfare....

Complete shyte.

Sounds horrible, nasty sounding drums, just a bad mix all round, and a very mediocre song. Six thumbs down.

I got as far as the 1:00 mark and gave up.  What a waste, they must have blown out their talent on their debut album.

To be honest I really think that's the only truly great work they ever did. They really were of a time, the swirling acid-tinged late 8o's/early 90's, I loved that album when it came out, there were some great tracks on it. Have some great memories of being young and stoned in the summer, listening to it in friends grotty apartments. And then there was a large gap and they released their second album which was OK but really a pile of wank compared to the first. And now this.

Never liked Stone Roses but I bought a Seahorses CD, that had some good stuff on it, lots of Zeppelin-esque riffing.

At first they wanted to be adored, not they just want to be ignored...

That said, I didn't find the song to be THAT bad.  If it's supposed to sound like one of those happy-go-lucky songs from the 60's, well, I think they succeeded.

I agree with Craig.  It's not like it's not re-workable.  They came up with a good motif but not sure why they just repeated it over and over again without any development.  Pop music is so simple to start with;  it don't take much to make something good.  That's why such an epic fail is so laughable, no?  So it's time to get obsessed over a new group, sharke.  How 'bout something from SWEDEN!  :D:D
