Closing Sonar, task remains as background task with UVIWorkstation
SPLAT 2016.04 / Windows 10 x64
I often have the problem, that SonarPLT.exe remains as a background task when I close Sonar. This prevents Sonar from starting again and I have to kill this stucking task with windows task manager.
This problem occur with most of my projects, but not on any. I tried to find out some depencies between the projects on which it happens and not, and it seems related to UVI Workstation sampler. Each project that uses a sample library with UVIWorkstation prevents Sonar from closing correctly. It closes the program and all windows but still a SonarPLT.exe remains in background.
I did a test with a complete empty project, only UVIWorkstation with a sample-library loaded causes the problem. No problem with an empty instance of UVIWorkstation.
The version of my UVIWorkstation is 2.6.5 x64 and this is currently the latest version. I updated to this version shortly because of this problem with sonar, but it still remains.

I can confirm this problem.
I created a blank project, inserted the UVI Workstation as a synth, loaded an instrument, played it a bit, and closed SPlat without saving the blank project. SONARPLT.exe remained in memory, and I had to use the Task Manager to end it.

Can not say I am seeing this with the test I just did but I would report it here as you have had one confirmation.

I tried some more tests with other DAW's like Studio One 3.2.1 and Reaper. Same problems there. So this seems not Sonar related and a bug in UVI Workstation 2.6.5.

I just sent a message to UVI support on this issue. I'll report back when I hear from them.

I received an email from UVI this morning with a link to the pre-release update to Workstation v2.6.6. I installed the x64 version and tested it with SPlat. Problem resolved! Everything shuts down properly, and SONAR can be restarted normally.
I reported the success to UVI, so I would expect v2.6.6 to drop soon!

I've been told this happens due to plugin issues. Although I can neither confirm nor deny it, it happens to me rather frequently, mostly with the X series. The only plugins I use are those bundled with Sonar.

v2.6.6 of UVI has been released, should fix this issue.
