A new study out of the University of Montréal has found that men who have sex with 20 or more partners during their lifetimes are less likely to develop prostate cancer. But there’s a catch: It only applies to straight guys. Gay men who bump uglies with 20 or more partners during their lifetimes are more likely to develop prostate cancer.

Well, I didn't want to put it into so many words, but I had an immediate thought about that which seems to be at least speculated on in the article. It may be due to....er....how shall I put it....using the go-round for somewhat less than merry purposes..... Or decidedly merry, depending on which way you look at it....

The confounding issue may be that men with more partners may have more sexual drive leading to more ejaculations. Ejaculations, regardless of how they are achieved, seem to be protective against prostate cancer. So even if you are lonely, old and ugly, you want to keep the pump going. Of course there may be spiritual consequences of late life masturbation. As Fr. Guido Sarducci says "It's-a add up."
