CAKEWALK CRASHING (ROLLBACK)

Hello. The new plugins weren't working because of a graphics issue so I was already not happy but I pushed on pass that and this was the first time I actually worked with the new release. I couldn't even make a template without it crashing. Twice. Stability was good until this last update so I rolled back. Last year was smooth but this year I'm having my share of setbacks.

I think I'll hold off from updating every month as I'm really trying to do more music now and can't afford the time to troubleshoot problems now. Anyway, I hate to have to hold off updating because it sort of defeats the purpose of trying to stay current but it has to be so for now.

Seems like this update has caused more crashing than any other (I'm probably wrong). But usually the problems were more related to things like not finding the new plugins or general questions on how things work. At least that's how it appears to me. I'm sure it'll all get straighten out. Hope everyone is enjoying making music!

    My dilemma, too.

Turns out the new plugs's GUIs use too much CPU power when open so I also am also giving them a miss.

I try updating only in a quiet period - but I run into new issues only if actually using Sonar.

In the end I find myself updating soon anyway, in vain hope that a bug holding me up got fixed. But it's time-consuming.

I hope it gets sorted Jeff, theres supposed to be some great new updates planned for this months I believe
the dark theme (see cakewalks Facebook posts).
but I know it can suck dealing with pc issues while trying to finish projects.
its hard enough to complete tight music passages without having to deal with other stuff, so I feel for you man.
I however have been pretty lucky and running smoothly. I hope the same for you in the future.

have you tried updating windows and video drivers?? the new plug ins use open GL.

Thanks jpetersen and chuckebaby. Yes, I tried updating the driver but I have the latest one installed already. The dark theme looks awesome man! I'm hoping it gets fixed but if they designed the new plugins to work with a different type driver it may take some doing to fix.

Like I said, I had  gotten pass the plugins and was all ready to do some work when the crashes started. Sonar just felt unstable and I wouldn't have any faith working that way. After the rollback all seems well. This year has not been as smooth as last year (to me).

    Appreciate the feedback fellas!

well, if you update your sig (in your user settings)
list your set up, what your using for pc and audio card we might be able to trouble shoot it.
    let me know.

PS- im using a stock onboard video driver and the plug ins work well for me, so it has to be a conflict, driver or update issue.
    which is very solvable.
