HEY, Miss Prissy

To my delight -- Microsoft provided a new Windows 10 update which promises to fix a "potential" (really - potential?) sound problem.  Well, it is installed and to my surprise the crackling and popping have been reduced (at least as of this posting) a great deal.
Here is a song which is an update on the goings on of Miss Prissy.  Somewhere on my SoundClick page is the first account of her.  She still is stuck in her bad attitude.  Even the fictitious Freddy J could not change her.  Freddy's frustration finished the relationship.  However, it has been on the grapevine that some kind of relationship is building between Miss Prissy and Slow Moe.  You remember him don't you.  The first account of him is somewhere on the SoundClick page also.

In this song I was going for a raunchy, slinky sound.  I wanted it fairly bare bones, raw, and definitely not over produced (as if I had the smarts to do that).  I also used my new EKO Ghost VI on it.  I noticed, after finishing this, that the strings on it caused me to squeak a bit.  I will be changing those.

Anyway, even though I was going for a raw sound, I would appreciate any feedback that you might provide.

I hope that it gives you a bit of a giggle.  Thanks!

Did she drop you because she felt superior to you?  That's often a misperception in relationships gone bad;  the man gets rejected by the womyn, it's supposed to be the other way around of course. :D:D

    Hey, Freddy,

How are you, buddy?  Hope you're doing great!

Super job on this very cool, gritty and "authentic" sounding vintage blues number!

Great lyrics, tasty guitar playing, cool vintage tones, and excellent vocals and harmony work.

Really nice work, Freddy, it's always great to hear you again!

    Have a great week, buddy!
    Bob

Nice Freddy, definitely coming across as gritty here, but not in a bad way, it has that slightly jam feel with a touch of loose in a "Little feat" way.

Yeah, I likes it...    Down low and gritty, probably the way Miss Prissy should be feeling, huh?   I think Tampa Fred has a good one here.    Bye bye...

its been a while Freddy...so I'll just start by saying your recordings seem to have matured a bit...sounding tighter, fuller and more balanced...I would suggest when you do the call and response deal (do you know her, yea...I know her) do a bit of panning hard l/r which might sell that part a lil better...

yea....lots of good stuff here bro...good job!!!

Oops, a little slow on my responses -- my apologies.

Hi David, thanks for listening.  Actually the fictitious Miss Prissy was back to her bad attitude and egocentric ways.  The fictitious Freddy J dumped her (as did Tampa Fred).  At least that is what they claim (LOL).

Hey Bob.  Thank you my friend.  I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.  I hope all is going well with you.

Hello Wookiee!!  Thanks for the feedback  buddy --- I very much appreciate it.  I was reaching back for an older (late 50's?) raunchy rock or roadhouse feel.  I never know if I pull off what I am attempting to do  ----  so, I appreciate your comments.

Thank you Steve.  Well --- the fictitious Miss Prissy has a pretty large and defensive ego.  I am not sure that she is capable of self reflection. Perhaps the adventures of Miss Prissy might continue?  Thanks again for listening and commenting.

Hi Makke.  Thank you for taking the time to listen and for your kind comments.

Hi Tom.  I am glad to see you back on the forum and posting more songs from Distant Towers.  I really like your last 2 posts. Thank you for your kind feedback.  I am very grateful to you and members of the forum because through you comments, I have learned a lot even though my learning curve is still almost exponential.  Your suggestion on the "call and response" is a good one and I will be making the correction.  Thanks again my friend.

Sounds pretty good here.  I think I would make the drums louder (or bring the vocals down) but that's me.  Good job.

    Hi Freddy ,
I really enjoyed the musical end of your tune Hey , Miss Prissy
The guitars and instruments  sound very rooted and organically correct for this type of Blues Genre  ..
Very Good playing on a good song ...
As a non singer over here , I generally won't offer comments on that end of things other than the vocal was a tad loud for my taste .

    all the best,

Hi John.  Thanks for listening and especially for commenting.  Kenny's comments (below) also suggest bringing the vocals down a bit.  So, since both of you are suggesting that, I will cut them back a bit and hopefully that will give the drums a bit of a chance to come through more.  Thanks again.

Hey Kenny.  Thanks for listening.  I appreciate your comments very much.  I will soften up the vocals as you and John suggest and hopefully, that will give the instrumentation a better chance to come through.  Thanks again for listening and commenting.

This is some good Freddy. What a solid sound you have on this one. It seems like everytime I listen to one of your tunes your guitar playing, singing and mixing abilities has improved. This is such a fun song - I think I'll go get me a beer.

i enjoyed this. there's a growly bass-end to this mix which suits the subject matter perfectly. in fact i'd love to hear this covered by Distant Towers as their dark grunge would be even more suited.
lovely clear mix and the singing is excellent

Gotta keep it raw and keep it real man. This is AWESOME!!!!!! It's polished to perfection where the REAL WORLD goes in my opinion, the kinda stuff you can't tweak so to speak. A real recording and a real expression of the tune.
    MIX IS PERFECT!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing!!!! Loved this tune and raw is what I like to hear/MEANING REAL. Good stuff!!!
