Multi track MIDI clips

Are there any help files on how to use the multiple MIDI tracks that are generated when I drag a clip into a single track? I get all the instruments tracks created and labelled, but I don't know how to get them to sound. I use soft synths. Many thanks in advance.

That's a good question. I have a hardware synth set as default midi. Possibly track templates Hopefully others will chime in. It would be nice to add a softsynth as the default, but I don't see anything in prefs to do that.

If you don't have any MIDI output devices checked under "Preferences" > "MIDI" > "Devices",
the Cakewalk TTS-1 Soft Synth will be inserted by default when you import a multitrack MIDI file.

are you referring to karaoke midi clips ? (midi 2)
midi clips with several different parts on them ?

I simply import the file to a blank project, then build soft synths around them
(insert new soft synths and drag the clips to their new tracks.)
it makes it easier because there is often guess work involved.
