Waves NLS alternatives that are less CPU demaning

Hi all!
Trying out Waves NLS, sound pretty good IMO but very CPU demaning on my DAW...experiencing dropouts. Anyone has with experience with others, that are at least as good as NLS, but are less CPU demanding? suggestions would be appreciated.

I use and like the NLS a lot (thus I can't comment on alternatives), but I wonder if you did hike your ASIO buffer all the way when using NLS which should cure a lot of the dropout issues (you won't need NLS while tracking anyway where buffers need to be small)

You already have the Pro Channel Console Emu's built into Sonar...

Granted they are not the "Greatest", but they can do the job when
properly used...

I agree with Larry on this one. I own the NLS and while they are really good at what they do, you already have very good alternatives baked into SPlat that are not as CPU intensive.

IOW I only use the NLS on certain things. What? It's never the same. Try it and see what your ears tell you. Like Zo suggests, only on the good stuff!!

I would spend the money to upgrade to Platinum before buying NLS.
That would be money much better spent IMO...YMMV

That's becoming more and more tempting.
