Win 10 upgrade - flawless
Gents, today I had the time and the courage to upgrade the OS of my box ( Win 7 -64). after reading several post which on the one hand were encouraging me to do that- and on the other hand warning threads about total mess after doing that. I used the system builder tool. I´m very happy that my box now works well and faster than before- had not to reinstall any driver or something like that. Thanks for all the informal infos , threads and posts in this forum about that.

Congrats Pragi!!
I had the same experience upgrading from Win 8.1 (getting close to a year now with Win 10).......so far IMO, it's been the best version of Windows.

It actually called Media Creation Tool. It downloads win 10 and allows you to create an installer DVD or USB drive. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10You should go this route rather than thru Windows Update so that you have a permanent installation media. It is possible to either do a clean install (wipe your HDD) or update your existing windows and keep all your programs using this method.

@ Mack, Microapp is right, I had time to create back ups of all my tracks and run the media creation tool , haven´t thought that it´s working immediately. All together it took about 2 hours, cause I´m a noob in working with tools like the media creation tool aso. It has been my last chance to jump on the Win 10 train for free, cause in the next weeks I´m not in my studio. If you upgrade to win 10, I wish you good luck.

Congratulations. I've been on Win 10 since it was released (and even before with the beta versions). All my recording software and hardware works in Win 10. I did have to reauthorize one VST and I had to install my Frontier Tranzport wireless controller using a Vista compatibility mode (but I had to do that for Win 7 and 8 too). FWIW, the Windows 10 forum is a good place to find tutorials and get help on Win 10 issues. www.tenforums.com
