Tender Storm, my latest track

Hi. Took a lot of mixing but I'm  satisfied with this mix but I still am open for some suggestions about how to improve the track. I already got a nice tip to use a harmony line from a fellow forumite in KVR forum which imo boosted the second and third choruses. I haven't, iirc, used that little trick because I tought it was difficult and I haven't really even thought about using it like i did here. I hope you like the track and I hope you give some feedback too.

Nice sound, Son.  I like it.

All but fifteen seconds of your piece contains virtually the same background sound from beginning to end.  Perhaps keeping the basic overall sound but changing instrumentation from time to time would prevent it from being monotonous.  No chordal background for a full minute somewhere in the piece would be great as a contrast.

    Good work.

    Best,

Thank you Larry for commenting and the good tips. I try to use them to improve the track and perhaps in my future tracks too.

I really like the melody lines you've used, and the synth pads support them nicely.    As for the drums...   They come across a bit muffled and maybe over-compressed?  For me I'd like to hear them more present and punchy, to hear that snare really pop.

Nice retro sounding piece. It brought to mind Pet SHop Boys and War of the Worlds - a strange combo!
the tune is really good and I think you have enough dynamic variation to hold the attention. Agree drums could be a little more punchy but overall it's nicely balanced

As usual you produce very melodic pieces which are pleasant and easy on the ear's.  I agree the drums could do with a little more punch and as suggested by Larry some instrument variation would add some subtle movement without distracting from the overall feel of the tune.

Music is pretty nice. I'd prefer a drier vocal, not sure about what effect you're using but it's overall very nice.

Thank you for your comment. I will try to fix the issues you pointed out. One commenter on another forum said that I should put more rests on my tunes. I have tried that but it is very difficult for some reason. Is it so that my tunes need more rests?

Not so much rests Kakku more the odd pause to create some suspense, even if it is just slipping in a tiny 2 beat pause ie.
You are in 4/4, inset one bar of 2/4 with nothing in it, then back to 4/4, just let the notes hang sound wise over the 1 2/4 bar.

Thank you Kenny. I use reverb on the whole mix and on the lead synths I use delay and Duet, a harmoniser effect.

I'm having a good day, this is another "LOVE IT" track!
My suggestion would be to slightly lower the high hat volume.  And add those "dry" vocals that someone previously mentioned.  I'm not hearing any vocals (i'm guessing you remixed and removed them).

Very nice of you, thank you. I used a sample and si drum synth for the drums and I don't think I know how to lower the volume on high hat unless there is a certain frequency I can pull lower. I can check that out. I didn't have any vocals on this tune before either as I know nobody that could sing this stuff. And also lyrics writing is very difficult so I haven't got those.

I just remembered I actually use a small one measure pause in almost every tune I make just before the middle 8. One guy at another forum is always commenting I should use rests and that makes me uneasy because it is not natural for me to use them.

Very solid tune throughout.  I'd agree with the earlier comments of adding punch to the snare a bit and tweaking down the high hat.  Also, maybe bring up the power chords on guitar in some segments.  Small tweaks all things considered.
