BBC Britain's Best Part Time Band
I have little truck with the TV talent shows like X-factor but this one might just be intresting Britain's Best Part Time Band kicks off on BBC 4 on Friday. I have hopes, but I will approch with caution and be prepaired for disapointment but the involvment of Midge Ure and Peter Hook is encouraging, as is Jazzie B who was involved in the innotave Soul II Soul

I thought this thread was about Steve, but then I saw that "d" at the end of "band."

Watched the first episode last night. I have to say, the quality of the bands was excellent, I'd love to see 'Bombskare' and the 'voodoo rock' band doing their thing live. Quite the antidote to Simon Cowell's nauseous mediocrity-fests.

Very nice of the BBC to let the world watch it. Hopefully, that wasn't an accident and we here in the colonies will be able to view subsequent episodes as well. Wasn't that Glasgow music store the same one featured in the recent Mark Knopfler film? Must be a local landmark.

Russian Flying Squirrels - my favourites so far. Their first ever gig, and on TV too!
