The seminar is Craig's work... and the host is Sweetwater. I think it would be great to have it filmed... but it would have to be at their discretion/choice. I may break out my phone for a pic or two... but I don't want to be futzing (distracted spectating?) and miss the show.

I gotta say...I promised the Thursday workshop a revelation on how to improve the sound quality of virtual synthesizers that would blow their minds, and it indeed did . Maybe I'll write it up for the Tip of the Week while I'm sitting in my hotel room tomorrow, but it's most effective if you have Z3TA+2 installed and can do the demo for yourself. FWIW I was told my workshop had the most attendees of any of the Thursday sessions, so for all of you SONAR users who showed up, thank you for your support! I'm really looking forward to Jim Roseberry coming to my computer-oriented sessions. Knowing there will be someone there to correct me if I say something stupid is a nice safety net

dwardzala So is Cakewalk going to have presence this year (besides you of course) after the Big Reveal?
As you know, Cakewalk did not attend this year. 😢 I had a million questions...Ok, maybe one. Walt

There are Cakewalk demos being given at the Gibson bus, with a setup that's away from the noise and craziness. Check it out!

This gearfest was awesome. All but one of my seminars was very informative (don't worry Craig, it wasn't one of yours.). It was great actually meeting Craig, Jim, Wally G and Dave G and other Sonar users. I met other cool people in other sessions, too.
If you are in the Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois area, you really need to check out Gearfest. It is an incredible combination of information, product demos and show only discounts on every type of gear and software there is. And the people are awesome. I think Sweetwater has a rule like Disney, because everybody was smiling and helpful even though for them it is probably the most pressure packed 2 days of their entire year.

My first Gearfest and loved it! The one thing I picked up from the workshops is that I've been totally doing my mixes wrong. After watching the presenters listen to their changes in the mix (or mastering session) they alway moved their head forward/backward in sync with the beat. I noticed some (younger) attendees doing the same thing. I guess I just I'm not with it. I'm wondering if I missing some phasing issues by not doing this.I also noticed that Craig A. did not perform this ritual when he made changes to his tracks during his most excellent senimars. State of the Art technique we're missing? dwardzala

I made the same observation. I think they feed them happy pills! :-) What ever Sweetwater management is doing is working! BTW: My wife told me not to return home unless I got a nice toy, sorry I mean tool. I purchased a Yamaha Montage Synth! Got to keep her happy! Walt

Went to Gearfest Saturday. Couldn't make it Friday as I was enduring the drudgery of my "real" job. Gearfest just seems to get bigger and better every year. Got a chance to say hi to Craig after his excellent make your vocals twice as good (or for many of us 4 times as good) seminar. Thanks for the excellent presentation Craig! I didn't come home with any goodies this year except a Furman power strip for my my wife. Like Walt says gotta keep her happy. All in all, had a great day.

Gearfest 2016 was simply awesome! David Wardzala, it was really cool meeting you and talking shop. Mr Craig Anderton's seminars were exceptional (applicable to all skill levels). I was absolutely honored to be present... and thank you for letting me chime in. Even though "gear" isn't her thing... from the "Vocals" seminar, my wife learned techniques she can apply to radio production. I don't think she was expecting that... As a musician/technician, it was beyond cool to talk one-on-one with one of the godfathers of all things music/electronic. Sweetwater put on an absolute first class event. Chuck should be mighty proud...

Another great gearfest. Already tried some of the tricks on a vocal track. and can't believe the difference. Thanks Craig for both workshops. Sometimes a new piece of gear gets us excited about spending more time in the studio. This year I'm excited about using the things I learned. I did enough upgrades last year, there wasn't any thing I wanted this year. I hope the songwriting workshop sinks in. It was great meeting Walt and David, wish I had more time to hang out. God bless Ya, Dave G
