These strange devices with half eaten fruit logo (is that the indication the device is 1/3 broken?) are going to get the first normal program soon

Secret info: USSR is dissolved, MacBook is just an overpriced PC, Windows is well working OS... But I know, you will not believe.

There are some pretty serious issues I've seen:

1) All the extra weight in your wallet. It is hard to know what to do with all the money you don't spend when you buy a system that costs half as much. I mean who has a wallet that can hold so many bills?

2) Ability to run lots of software. How can you possibly be productive when you have the option to run so many games and applications and such?

3) Too many hardware choices. It is so difficult to be able to customize your system to meet the precise needs of your particular work load. Much better to just be told what you get and have few options.

I went android from the start of the mobile revolution.  Like the open architecture... However, I truthfully could never afford a mac but swore endlessly at windows crashes while my friends cruised on MacHappy...That was way after our fun with Atari ST and Commodore Amiga...

Ended up on Sonar... and to be frank, struggled mightily with earlier incantations.  But I never strayed and made mucho music... I've always been the first to say "I'm having this problem, and it's probably cause I'm an idiot" but windows crashes were all too common.

For the professional audio/video world, Apple provided a much more stable platform.  That is why most pros are mac based.  While this may be legacy based, it's stupid to deny this.  I believe Sonar belongs on the platform... it will be fantastic for all and allow Sonar infestations never before probable...

Sonar has been ready for prime time for awhile now... last year was a major shift into overdrive and the "OS" trolling is foolish...and could very well be counter productive... Personally, although I've never used a MAC, I'm excited to see how this unfolds...Sonar's umbrella is getting larger.  That's Good!  It's entering a powerful domain with it's own unique offerings... and that's also good.

We are all artists, creative geniuses in our own rights... regardless of the OS or DAW.  Grow up! This is a new beginning, opening a new doorway into a large sector of the industry... and we will all be better for it.

One last point... I don't know how many times I've been dismayed or frustrated that this controller or that controller had no Sonar mapping... the DAW being relegated to a niche market... the PC... which most of the industry doesn't use... this extends to vst's, setup procedures and the like.

I hope this will begin to change.  Moving into the main industry platform is an important step.

I'm basically the only musician that's on PC in my environment. Everybody around me is gushing on Mac, whether they do any serious production or not. But no matter how much they swear by their switch (that they have "far less" problems now etc), if you're around them long enough you will notice that Macs crash, have upgrade problems, hardware failures, get slower over time, etc. just like any other PC. The owners just like to pretend it never happened because then they wouldn't be justified (or only half justified) spending so much. Cognitive dissonance is a wonderful thing.

I can add two points:
1) there is no reason to distinguish between Mac and PC. Mac IS a PC for long time. But it make sense to distinguish between OSX and Windows, Mac PC and Lenovo PC
2) I can remember 3 Windows crashes  (only!) during last 16 years, all 3 was related to broken (2 time) or simply bad (1 time) hardware. Use Intel CPUs on Intel chipsets installed on known (from good side) motherboard producer, do not use no-name RAM or cheap power supplies, do not use gamers graphic cards till you know exactly what you are doing (that requires special selection for the motherboard and the power supply, do not think that something  with PCIe slot and 1000W PSU is "safe") and your Windows will not crash...

This should be Apple's new marketing slogan:)
