Lifetime version (Answered)

How would one know if the version they have is for lifetime updating?

I paid for it but there is no indication in my account and nothing in the software or CC indicates it.

From the Sonar >Help>About Sonar is has Membership and the expiration date for the yearly membership.

Thought I'd ask before contacting support, if needed.

Did you run the command center and update? There's an extra update required after you buy the lifetime.

Yes.

In the "store activity" the purchase is recorded. CC lists 2016.5 (22.5.0.45)
One would think that "Lifetime" would replace the valid through date listed in the "about Sonar" window.

As things are there is no indication other than the payment transaction in store activity.

And by questioning me Boscoe are you leading me to assume that you have the lifetime update and it is being indicated in any of the areas I mentioned?

that's all I have too spacey. There are some threads about that indicate some users are being shown 2037 (noel said that's just an arbitrary number) as the expiry date. As long as we have that shop transaction listed I figure it's solid. I agree they should quash any anxiety by using the 'about sonar' window.

Thank you Chippy. Saved me from wading through threads- searching failed.

I questioned you because it's what I had to do after buying the lifetime. :) FWIW if I look at "about Sonar" it says my expiration date is 2037. There's no mention in the COmmand Center, but if I go to https://www.cakewalk.com/My-Account/Membership it shows the infinity symbol.

That's why I question any other indications because unlike yours "about Sonar" mine didn't change. It kept the yearly membership expiration date.

So in Membership Details is the only indicator.

Thanks.

Go to : https://www.cakewalk.com/My-Account . Then go to My Products -> View Your Products. Find 'SONAR Platinum' in your list and click it. This will show the details and it should show "This is a membership product, your membership ends on ."
Note that I have not even started up CCC nor Sonar yet since I upgraded this weekend.

I know I read a post about this topic, but the search isn't turning it up...

I bought the lifetime update offer a few days ago and applied the latest update this morning...

Previously it read owned with a date ending 3/2017
Now it's showing owned and an end date of 2037

I was expecting to see the infinity sign... But I do remember someone else posting that they saw the 2037 date first then it changed to infinity...

I tried restarting Sonar as well as starting it from inside CCC, but it hasn't changed... Is there something I need to do or know?

Much thanks and happy Sonar forever!

Ha! Funny... After all my searching and finally simply posting my question here, I see the messages immediately prior to mine are the messages I remembered seeing!

So much for search features... ;-)
