Sonarplt.exe error.

I was hoping someone here could help me. I haven't been able to get sonar to open since the last update. not sure if this is an account issue or something else. When i try to open the program, the start screen comes up and shows that it is in demo mode. Then right away i get a sonarplt.exe error and the program crashes. I've tried doing a complete removal and install of the program even going as far as cleaning out the registry. I've been using the program without any problems since last November. I've tried unhooking everything from my computer other than the mouse, keyboard and monitor, and it still makes no difference. I'm able to open my old version of sonar X3 without any problems and I've also been able to open a demo version of Sonar producer with no problems. It seems like this might be an issue with the program being validated from CCC. I've been sending e-mails for the last 3 weeks to sonar with no reply, and every time I've tried to schedule phone support, it says that everyone is booked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hang in there - the Cakewalk technical support is in a world of hurting at the moment, trying to wade through some internal issues from a recent alteration in their whole support structure - and I don't think they are quite there yet, as far as working through a bit of a backlog with folks having issues and needing technical support assistance.

Welcome to the forums, by the way - as you spend time in the forums, you will likely find yourself learning a lot of ways to do things (I always do), and the folks in the forums are REALLY good at helping each other out with issues that arise.

You do not yet have a high enough number of forum posts made, to where you can send or receive Private Messages, which means you cannot directly send or get any messages to or from any other forum members - most notably the Cakewalk staff.  (I believe that number of needed posts to get past that is something like 25, and that whole thing is to help prevent spammers from flooding the forums).

Anyways, since you cannot yet send/receive Private Messages, I will put together a quick private message on your behalf, and send it to a couple of the Cakewalk staff, to see if they can help you out.

Please bear in mind that they DO have a bit of a backlog that they are working through, on top of being a pretty small (but gritty) company, they have to deal with whatever went sideways with their new support mechanisms, so it might take some time to where they can help you.  Just try to be patient is all I am suggesting - this technical support snafu is pretty new, and quite unusual, and they WILL get things squared away.

Thank you for the response. I do understand that they are having difficulties with their support structure at the moment. Hopefully this can get remedied soon. Ive been using the program since sonar 6, and I've been a lurker on the forum for years. Sonar has always run rock solid on my system until recently, so I've never really had any issues to post about.

If you have tried with the program removal... Have you tried to cleanup user data?

In your USER directly, there is a (hidden) folder for each Sonar version (f.e. "Application Data/Cakewalk/Sonar Platinum", but that is OS dependent). You can search for "TTSSEQ.INI" or "AUD.INI". Delete the whole directory (but not directories for other versions...) and start platinum again.
The chance that helps is rather small, but it will cost you less then a minute, so why not try?

Sonar 8LE -> Platinum infinity, REAPER, Windows 10 pro
    GA-EP35-DS3L, E7500, 4GB, GTX 1050 Ti, 2x500GB
RME Babyface Pro (M-Audio Audiophile Firewire/410, VS-20), Kawai CN43, TD-11, Roland A500S, Akai MPK Mini, Keystation Pro, etc.

How does the product's license and other data appear in your My Products section of your Cakewalk account?

If, by chance THAT is where the issue is, then it would require a manual intervention on their end to change its registration status.
