Is there a way to set midi input (on instrument tracks) to a specific source by default?

Sonar defaults to none which is also midi omni,  and the problem is that I'm getting double recordings if I use a synth that is outputting midi by default, such as Komplete Kontrol.  If I could get it to use my controller as input by default, that would be good.
