Demo mode due to missed payment

Hi all

Just for the hell of it, I missed my monthly payment this month as I am opting for the lifetime upgrades at the end of this month.

I am a full Platinum owner / member, ie I paid my full 12 months and own Platinum, and kept up subscriptions afterwards.

My copy now is in demo mode and won't allow me to save.

Do I need to roll back? Should Sonar just disable the new additions?

Hypothetical questions I know - I am just curious.

Sonar - Platinum (always up to date)
PC - Dell XPS 13 7th Gen Intel i7, 500GB SSD, 16GB RAM, 2 x 27" HD monitors, connected via a D3100 DOCKING STATION.
OS - Windows 10 x64
Interface - Focusrite Scarlett 8i6, Yamaha MG12XU

Rack FX - TC Helicon Voiceworks Plus, TC Electronics M300
MIDI - M AUDIO Keystation PRO 88, Focusrite Scarlett 8i6, Roland UM-ONE Mk 2, Yamaha MU100R

Microphones - sE X1, AT 2035, Neumann TLM102
Monitors - Yamaha NS7, ATH-M50 'Phones

You missed your payment on purpose?  Have you thought of the obvious?  Why don't you try rolling back and see if it reverts to a working model and if you still get the lifetime upgrade offer?

    All the best,

Occasionally Sonar pops into demo mode for a few users as of late, I believe it is a known issue on the bench to be resolved.  Try rebooting the program.  Mine occasionally does this on a fresh reboot of my windows 7 system

Well, you should certainly be able to roll back to your "purchased" version.  Anything after that you gave up by stopping payment. (This is assuming they actually repo'd Sonar from you, and the demo isn't a result of some glitch).

If you complete 12 months you own SONAR up to the last month you paid. So if you don't make a new payment and want to continue to use SONAR, you will need to roll back to the last month you paid for.
This only applies to users who are on the monthly payment plan. If you purchased an annual membership it is always fully owned for that annual period. For a lifetime user it is owned forever and includes future updates.

    Hope this makes sense.

oh, really ? my understanding is that the annual membership purchased entitled one to the copy of sonar plus a year's updates- after the year, assuming no further payments are made, the user is no longer entitled to receive updates, but may continue to use the version of sonar including the updates that were installed.
am I wrong in this understanding or has this changed ?

actually, he stated " it is always fully owned for that annual period" - which excludes times following that annual period, and is different than simply stating "it is fully owned".

Let me state that  I am not an anti-cakewalk, conspiracy guy or anything like that- great product, great communication- 100%. Further, I realize it must be a headache and a half having to re-iterate terms of what I believe to be a simple offer, normally I would ignore this but when a representative makes a statement that substantially changes those terms I do not think it is incorrect to request a clarification.

No - he said that you after 12 months you OWN Sonar up to the last month you pay. You dont stop owning it after that point. You just dont get further updates.

You are right in one thing though - this deal has certainly been explained many times over.

This is also my experience of their customer service so far. In addition to the support calls I have raised for problems with melodyne and block deleting tracks, Command Center has now cocked up my Melodyne registration and I cannot use the bundled version of Melodyne - I'm not sure its even worth my time raising an incident for this new problem.

I didn't change any terms I was just summarizing since the OP was related to monthly updates. When I said annual period I meant the period following your purchase date - that's why its called annual membership.
When you buy an annual membership you are buying the latest product available at that time including another 12 months of updates from the date you bought it. After the 12 month period has completed, you will cease to receive any further updates in your account until you renew your membership. The last update you received at the end of the 12 month period will of course continue to owned.
