Some questions about Sonar Platinum from Cubase user
Hello, recently I purchased Sonar Platinum Lifetime, everything is going fine, however, I still have some unresolved questions. Maybe some of you guys can help me :) It will be greatly appreciated :) 1. Is it possible to open ProChannel in Console View by shortcut? I know about Ctrl+I (it opens it in Inspector), but is it possible to open it in Console instead of clicking tiny arrows with mouse? 2. Is it possible to "reset" ProChannel with keycommand? Now I'm using preset called Misc - Full Reset, maybe somebody have a CAL script to do so via shortcut or any other way? 3. Is it possible to solo one band in Quad Channel EQ like in LP EQ (headphones icon) or FabFilter Pro Q2? 4. Is there an option to show midi note name (like C3, D4, etc) on midi note in Piano Roll instead of keyboard on the left? 5. Is it possible to audition midi note in Piano Roll while nudging note vertically via nudge key commands? Now I hear the note only with mouse click. 6. Is it possible to copy existing send from one channel to another in Console View? Thank you!

Hi, and welcome to this forum. I cannot help with everything, but. 1: You can widen or narrow all strips, and expand Pro Channels with keyboard shortcuts in Preferences (P), Advanced (at the bottom), Customization, Keyboard Shortcuts. I just bound the PC to "A" to test, and it works. 3: No it is not. Others will know more. All the best.

4. On my laptop, if I simply move the cursor up/down in the PRV the note name is displayed on the corresponding piano key to the left. I don't think you can replace the keys for notes but navigation is made slightly easier because each octave's base note (C3, C4, C5 etc are permanently displayed)

Don't know how I missed it in Keyboard Shortcuts menu! Thank you very much! Bristol_Jonesey 4. Thanks, but in some other DAWs there is ability to show note name on the note, I thought maybe there is an option anywhere. For me it's much easier to not loose focus by watching on the left to see the note name (when I'm working on laptop without midi keyboard connected, so I need to manipulate a lot with notes with regular keyboard)

With regards to question 2, you could put the new LP EQ (in nonlinear mode) in a FX chain in the Pro Channel. It does solo each band.

You should add a post to the Feature Requests forum for any ideas Sonar doesn't do. I like the display note names on midi note idea. I think I've seen it in Reaper. It does make it a bit easier to figure out where you are as you move notes around. Regards, Dan

Fully agree. Yes, I saw this in Reaper and Cubase, it's much easier for me to work this way. I will add the feature request.

Hi kresbeatz, and welcome to the Cakewalk forums. You have some good suggestions so please post them as feature requests. PS: I was in Budapest a month ago. Great city! :)

Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk] Hi kresbeatz, and welcome to the Cakewalk forums. You have some good suggestions so please post them as feature requests. PS: I was in Budapest a month ago. Great city! :) Thank you, I already added the FR (with some additional touches). I moved to Budapest 3.5 years ago and I absolutely love this city. Inspiring, beautiful and sometimes mind blowing :) PS Last version of Cakewalk software that I used permanently was Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and after I moved to Cubase and PT. Occasionally I saw Sonar X1 and X2, but nothing serious. Couple days ago I had an opportunity to get Sonar Platinum Lifetime and I was really surprised how mature this software is nowadays. Lots of useful shortcuts, great design and much improved performance. Now I have some free time to learn it well and see if it suits me best :)

Not sure about Platinum but in X3 you can... 4. Hover mouse over PRV note to display all info. Double click it to open dialog box where info can be changed. 5. Audition notes by hitting "J" and drag mouse across notes. 6. Set channel Sends individually OR you can focus several tracks (turns track # blue), hold "ctrl" and select a Send - all tracks will be set. This trick works for a number of actions. FX bin plugins can be copied by holding "ctrl" and dragging them to another channel.

J + mouse drag works awesome while trying to pinpoint things. But I guess OP is asking abt totally different thing. Audition note while nudging using keys 2&8

You are absolutely right, I meant audition while nudging with keys Num2 and Num8.
