(Solved) why is there no support for Sonar? My payments are always good...

My credit card gets ding every month to use Sonar Platinum, so one should be able to understand where I'm coming from when I double click the icon and the Sonar software just says SONARPLT.exe can't run and I can't get any help...  Tried to email and got no response.  Tired to schedule a call back and there are no spots available??  Why?

What am I paying for if the software doesn't work, has a complicated install and uninstall process and I can't get any help?  What's going on over there????

EARN THE MONEY!

This started over the weekend.  I had the software set to MME mode and changed it to ASIO when I hooked up my focusrite 6I6, and I have done many times in the past, and the software crashed and I have yet to get back in.

Problem turned out to be Fender Fusion ASIO driver.
Removed that... and the latest version of Platinum loads just fine.

With Fusion driver loaded (device not connected), opening Sonar with Shift key down would still result in a crash.

    Good solve, Jim.
Of course that doesn't solve the larger problem of the (apparently) huge support backlog. It has been months now, and considering the recent shift to "only membership customers" I don't think it's very good form. Waves have a similar deal which is annoying enough when you're out of WUP but when you're not, they're prompt and helpful.

Jim's a prince, but Cakewalk should be embarrassed by this.

Thanks to Jim everything is good now.  One thing I did have to do is go to a restore point before the Fender Fuse installation as some of the devices weren't working (sound drivers) once Jim was done.  The restore went very well and everything is back to normal.  I'll attempt to load the fender fusion drivers tonight and let everyone know how it goes.  Thanks to Jim I now know the cause of the issue and feel I can resolve it should it reappear.   FYI - Fender Fuse is the USB interface software between the Fender Mustang IV modeling amp and the computer.  Hopefully I can get them both to work.

To the administrators over at Cakewalk I still say 'Earn The Money!!' for the lack of consideration for the people paying their most likely over priced salaries.  To my friend Jim I can only say THANKS MAN!!  I hope they don't trade you in for something less expensive!

There was another recent thread where a guy said that Sonar blew up his Fender amp the first time he tried to get the USB working. Sounds like Fender need to give their driver a little TLC.

Ok, got both the Fender Fuse and Sonar Plt running.  I think the key here is - don't change from MME to ASIO while the Fender Mustang amp is connected with it's software util running.  Maybe I'll put this to test someday when I'm lacking on aggravation.
