Missing functionality in Plug in manager

Since the last update or 2 the plug in manager in both Sonar Professional and Artist has been essentially nonfunctional. The VST Configuration and the Cakewalk Plug-In Preset controls are greyed out. I've searched through the preferences settings and have found nothing that changes the problem, Any ideas?

I have not experience the problem.

I notice in another the the OP is trying to setup MIDI Guitar as a synth. This is not necessary. Starting with X3 the VST2 drop down in the standard header for a plug-in may be used to enable MIDI I/O. After inserting MIDI Guitar into the FX rack of an audio track, click "Enable MIDI Output" in the VST2 drop down. After that MIDI Guitar will be available in MIDI and instrument track inputs.

The VST properties dialog should be available from the VST2 drop down too.

Something has removed the registry links to the vst scanner or its pointing to a dead link. Did you change paths or install locations? Please reinstall the latest update and it should fix it. This is not related to any changes to the plugin manager or SONAR.

Noel, thank you for the response. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Updated and rolled back. I can only assume it's as you surmised, a registry problem. Is there a way to just edit the registry to correct the problem?
