[Solved] How do I make different length MIDI notes all the same?
Hi, I can't seem to get batch edit different length notes to all the equal length. If I drag the ends, it all just becomes longer/shorter by the dragged about . I'm looking for a way to make all notes quarters/eighths/sixteenths... An NO, Quantize is not the tool i'm looking for because it just adjust notes to "the closest" value... Regards, B

Use the event inspector in the tool bar. Select all notes and enter value. Job done.

RedSkyRoad I can't seem to get batch edit different length notes to all the equal length. If I drag the ends, it all just becomes longer/shorter by the dragged about .
A graphical way to do this: In the PRV, using smart tool, select all notes you want to change. Then change the length on one of the selected note while holding the "shift" key. Doing this, all selected notes will become the length of the note you are adjusting.

I wonder, how would someone like me who's blind try out the event inspector? Is there a shortcut key to get to it? I know that alt+4 takes you to the Event List, but I'm sure that's not the same.

Is the Reference Guide the same as the one I would find in the Sonar 8.5 folder in Program Files? I'm confused!

I don't own 8.5, so I have no way of telling. Why not download it and compare? It's just a PDF.

I've managed to download the document and convert it into a readable format, since my screenreader doesn't read PDF's. However, I'm confused as to where to search for information about the Event Inspector. What page is it on?

I'm actually looking for what page I should go to for information on the event inspector. I have the reference guide in a word document. I open Microsoft Word 2003, open the document, and I'm reading it now, but I'm not sure which page to turn to to focus on the event inspector's commands and keyboard shortcuts.

@Annabelle, The Event Inspector in Sonar 8.5 is implemented as a Toolbar with fields labeled Time, Pitch, Vel, Dur, and Chn. Use the Views menu and select Toolbars... to open the Toolbars dialog. The checkbox labeled "G" in the Toolbars dialog enables the Event Inspector toolbar. I don't have a screen reader on my system, so I can't confirm that the toolbar is accessible. Hope this helps, Ron

I looked in the reference guide, and I found nothing about the Event Inspector, just the Track and Bus Inspector. What do I do next?

@Annabelle, Which version of Sonar are you running? If you are running Sonar 8.5, which you referenced in one of your threads, then I gave you the instructions of how to access the Event Inspector here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3437004 and @telecharge gave you the correct PDF reference page here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3436741. Hope this helps, Ron
