I'm not a huge techno fan, but there were some really cool sounds going on in this one. Loved that glass harp type sound on the melody there. SOme nice note bending things going on also. It held my attention through the whole thing, which says a lot. I usually get a bit boired of techno.

I liked this alot. Either you are getting better at this or I'm learning what to listen for.

I have no idea what to offer for critique though. I'll need to listen to some more.

I didn't particularly enjoy this piece. Nothing wrong with the songwriting, per se, but I wasn't happy with the drum kit selection; the snare in particular stole attention away from the burbling synthlines. I think with a re-selection of better synth patches, and a creative sprinkling of reverb, along with a drumkit replacement, the true heart of this song will be revealed. I don't think it's a "slamming" techno piece - I do think it has more in common with a lighthearted soundtrack for a reflecting pool.

The "glass harp" was actually slide guitar doubled with a few things, and a lot of processing.

Thanks, that's always a huge compliment.

Others have make the point of the drumkit selection being distracting and overbearing. You're also right about the character of the song. It was originally a bit more introspective but at the last minute I was thinking it needed bigger drums. I'll probably change those back sometime soon.
