Success a New Original with Marcos69 and Bapu

It has been nearly a year since I've posted a song here, and it feels good to be back.  I wrote this little blues/country tune about that awkward period when we first get out in the world after high school.  I hope you enjoy it.  As always, all comments, good or bad are appreciated.  Top tune on my SoundClick page:
 http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1050818&content=music
Mark Wessels (Marcos69)- Lead guitar and electric rhythm guitar
Ed Kocol (Bapu)- Bass
Phil Doyle (Philz)- All the other stuff

Thanks for listening.

i love the lyrics, you have a great understated vocal delivery. however I fell the sound could be a bit fuller with your singing, maybe need to try doubling wide to add some body?
like the general mix, i'd get the piano out wider to find some room but all the instruments are clear and well-balanced. wish i could mix bass like you!

Loved it!!

Cool bluesy tune Phil.....vocals came across very nicely on my h-phones and that honkytonk/boogie piano was a perfect fit. Also enjoyed the smooth flowing lead guitar work by the ever talented Mr. Wessels, and of course the bass be jus drivin that tune all the way home!!

Well done fellas!!

Nice song, and mix. I think MGH's comment regarding the vocals may be that there is too much room captured in the mic. Try isolating more.

All the instruments were just grand, a real toe tapper!

That there is some fine quality shuffle just groovin' along.....

For me it has just the right feel for the genre, and the performance/arrangement is completely solid.  I agree with Dan that there may be a bit of small room tone in the vocals that doesn't necessarily match up with the instrumentation, but it's a mix nit.    Not to be confused with mixed nuts.

Thanks, Mark.  For better or worse I chose to leave my voice very natural on this tune.  Perhaps I'll go back to it and see how it sounds with a doubler.

Well what I've gathered so far from this thread is that you guys were wearing chaps, shared them with Wookie, Bapu has a cute ass and Mark licks a lot.
As for the song, nice chaps, impressive bottom and nice licks.

Hey, Phil,

It's really great to see you back around on the forum, hope you're doing well!

You, Ed and Mark did a dynamite job on this cool sounding blues-a-billy(?) rocker!

Great vocals, fun lyrics, Mark's guitar playing and tone is outstanding, as always, and our friend Bapsi did a super job on the bass! (I think I may have heard somebody mention that he has an Alembic?)

Very nice work, boys!
Bob

I love rhythmical music. And this one is one. Well done. It inspired me to grab an old idea of mine and rerecord it.
