SONAR Platinum User and Reference Guides

Why are the SONAR Platinum user and reference guides are reinstalled with each update even thought they don't seem to change? The dates for the Reference and User Guide files as shown in the SONAR Platinum Program Folder are 1/19/2015 and 1/12/2015 respectively which I'm guessing indicates that was the last time they were updated. The version numbers shown on page two of each guide is 21.00.00 as opposed to the v 1.0.0.29 on the compressed installer.

I use the reference guide a lot and I would hope that it is getting tweaked with each update, but that doesn't appear to be the case.  Am I missing something? If the reference guide is not being updated, does anyone know why? I frequently find (usually small) omissions and discrepancies between the reference guide and how SONAR actually behaves and I for one would like to see the documentation updated with each release.

I just installed SONAR Platinum 2016.06 which includes an update to the user and reference guides that are stored in the SONAR Platinum Program Folder. To determine whether or not the reference and user guides were being updated, I actually ran the Help Documentation installer several times. The last time I ran the installer (v 1.0.0.29) I renamed the existing user and reference guides so that I could verify that the new versions are going where I believe that they're going. They did. I also ran the installer for the previous (v 1.0.0.27) version. It's the same as well.

The pdf files were created in Jan 2015. Historically those files are not updated after the initial release of SONAR. There is a feature request regarding update frequency of the Reference Guide http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3244803

The online user guide is updated with each new update.  Also the ezines for each month are very handy.

Win 10 Pro x64, 32Gb DDR3 ram, Sonar Platinum, Cubase 9.5, Mackie MCU Pro, Cakewalk VS 100, Roland Octa-Capture,  A 800 Pro, Carver M-1.5t amp & C4000 pre amp, various mics, drums and brass instruments.

Both the local help and web based help systems are updated with each release. The web based help may also be updated between releases. Since the monthly release cycle this does not happen often. The last early release was the first time the local help file contained changes before the web.

Much of the ezine information is also in knowledge base articles.

Sorry, I searched for the topic but missed the thread in your reply. I will move my additional questions to that thread.
