Process - Apply Effect -- everything unavailable

Hi, I know this is something simple but it has stumped me.  I want to reverse an audio clip in X3.  I select the clip (making sure nothing else is selected) and click on the process menu/apply effect and see the all of the sub-menu items like reverse, cross fade etc -- but they are all grayed out.

I was literally doing this yesterday without any issues but today I am stymied.  Ideas?

Thanks!

My music:
Hummingbird Cinema (vocal tracks, covers and remixes)
Mosaic Manifesto  (remixes and instrumentals)

Ah, looks like it was because i had it processed with Melodyne.  I bounced it to a new track and could do it no problem.  Hope that helps someone else here!
