Yamaha TRANSACOUSTIC GUITARS

I'm wary of gimmicks, so I can't help but be wary of this. But the video demos do perk my interest in wanting to check this out. Nice looking guitar.

Anybody play one? Thoughts?

I'll have to check it out.  I have an A3M that is a joy to play.  I also find the THR series mini amps to be VERY good.  I like plugging my A3M into the THR for a touch of chorus and reverb - and to get the sound toward me instead of away.

I gotta check one of these out.

    Hi,

Nice. Makes the guitar itself sound better, and with a deeper feel that it would have otherwise.

    Very nice

I don't know about those, but for less than $20 you can buy an "exiter" which plugs into a speaker or headphone jack which looks like the heart of what they are doing.

I was going to buy some to play around with, but haven't gotten around to it.

EDIT: I was originally intrigued by this, which uses gongs with exiters as speakers:

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

In the first video,  the guitar sounds really good .
In the second video , the girl looks really good . So good  , I forgot all about the guitar and I wanted the guy playing it to stop playing it and go take a hike

I'm going to go out on a very short limb and say that English isn't necessarily that girls first language.

I liked how she said "Yam-aha."

(And, a quick check on the guitar tells me that it apparently costs about a grand.)

I did a re-watch of the first video link, the Yamaha professionally produced one. It made me smile. Here's this guy who finds a note from his wife/girlfriend/(boyfriend?) telling him to enjoy the day, along with a prepared plateful of breakfast. After eating he seems to be wondering what the day will bring forth. Picks up his guitar just somewhat offhandedly. Becomes infatuated by the sound. Takes a serious guitar playing seating position. As the day progresses he is in total bliss. Playing on the porch. Eventually ending up in the garage, in total peace with his guitar and aloneness for the day. No ' honey-do's, yard work, no wasting time watching the tube.

Actually a pretty nice ad. And his playing is quite good and the guitar sounds great.

So, the moral of the story is the Yamaha Transacoustic is the perfect replacement for your (non)significant other?
