(Rather predictably) E.L.O. at Glastonbury - a real class act :-)

How Ellie Goulding and Coldplay can be above Jeff Lynne's mob on tonight's bill is beyond me

Their original live show, where they arrived by UFO, was great. A couple of years ago, I bought the latest incarnation of their CDs. J.L.'s music holds up very well!

    Hi,

I miss the Roy Wood solo albums and fun stuff. Loved "Mustard" and "Eddie and the Falcons" ... and a lot of his stuff on ELO's early albums. All the way to "Eldorado" is just about perfect for me.

Opening the 'Out of the Blue' gate-fold, along with 'War of the Worlds' was one of the defining moments of my years as a twig.  But unfortunately I'm not sure the band carried it through to the Glastonbury show (at least not through the lens of the tv broadcast).  There was some tape-syncing going on with the lead violin on the second track that annoyed me, and I just felt a bit underwhelmed by the whole performance as a result.

    Wood

Studio One 3 Pro, (Sonar Platinum), Intel i7, Win10 Pro, 32Gb ram, RME Babyface Pro, Behringer X-Touch, Presonus Faderport, Akai MPK49, Arturia KeyLab25, KRK Rokit 5 monitors, and other sonic surprises.

    Agreed!

But today's fans, the youngsters that go to the concerts mostly, do not know ELO from OLE, but they have the Coldplay mp3's or cd's.

It's a commercial thing, and I'm sure that jeff Lynne thought that he could make a couple of bucks to keep rent paid and enjoy another fine evening with his mate/s.
