Drawing midi controller data in PRV (X3)

I'm trying to get some accurate sine wave pitch wheel bends.  When I draw midi controller data in PRV it seems I only can use the freehand or line tools.  Sine, triangle, etc. don't draw anything.  And with the line tool, I can't click on a line segment and chance the curve.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Have you considered using Pitch bend wheel events as automation events on the MIDI track?  The wavelengh of the sine wave can be set by the time resolution.

That would be a job for a CAL program:   get a mathematical equation for your sine wave, get input for the period of the wave,  insert a pitch bend at the value from the time according to the equation.   Simple in concept, but probably a bit of a hassle to program because of how CAL works with math ('reverse polish').   Still, once programmed, it should be very fast to use.

Yes, create an automation envelope for Wheel, and use combinations of fast and slow curves with nodes at 0, peak and trough positions. If you really need them to be actual controller events, you can re-record the envelope output using a physical or virtual MIDI cable loopback to another track. Create one cycle, and copy-paste to get more.
