Good news: I have a lot of plugins I need. Bad news: I don't have all the plugins I want. Worst news: I will likely buy all the things.

I have found myself exhibiting incredible restraint lately - not even taking advantage of the Waves sale. I have also been extremely productive on a song I'm writing and should release soon. Coincidence?

I'll bet if your plug-ins were hardware you'd make Chris Lord-Alge's studio look like a small home studio.

The good news: we probably all have all the plugs required to make an excellent mix.
The bad news: they will never quit making new and, occasionally, better plugs.

I'm in the middle of installing all (if possible) my plugs after a major upgrade, into 2 DAWs (none concurrent use).. Good news : -Sonar Plat (and bundles) -Nomad Factory -Native Instrument -Applied Acoustics System -FXpansion are all very friendly during the re authorization process. *I've written to FXpansion regarding my HDD crashed / having to install 2 new system - got a reply within an hour granting me with 2 extra authorizations for each product I've owned when I'm ready ! Bad news : -Notion 3 is no longer supported by PreSonus - I need to upgrade to Notion 5 to move forward. -Tedious process to download / install / look for serials / authorize especially for 2 DAWs , but I don't have that many plugs to do (is this Good news ? )

I can't remember the last plug-in I bought, and there's many of the ones I owned which I didn't even bother to install when I upgraded the studio computer almost 3 years ago. But every now and then, I venture outside of my go-to set of plug-ins to spice things up a bit and rediscover some gems. Last week, I re-discovered Waves H-Comp, which I bought a few years ago but never really used much. At any rate, my list of plug-ins must look ridiculously short by some of you guys' standards. But the fact is that the list of the ones I actually use is even shorter. Logic EQ, Compressor, Direction Mixer, Space Designer (reverb), Tape Delay - those 5, in that order, account for 95%. Waves' CLA-2A and L1 are the other 2 regular.
But it can be fun to spice things up a bit occasionally.
