A song about war...

This is a song I wrote a long time ago about the Vietnam War. After "9/11" and the war in Iraq I thought I would record it, as it would be mostly appropriate for any war.  Written from a soldier's point of view, it is a sad and dreary folk/rock piece intended to emphasize the consequences of war.  The title of the song is "Too Young to Vote".

I recorded the song using Cakewalk 6.  I am not a singer and my voice is kind of low and raspy.  It is actually a little too high for me to sing at all, but it just didn't sound quite right in another key, so I just let it go as is.

I love it!  It's better than Steven Stills if Steven Stills were still writing..(does that make sense?)  Why'd you do the computerized stuff with your voice?  I'll refrain from saying anything controversial about war(.)

Maybe I can share the partial lyrics of a song my friend and I wrote about war while in college:

*Gray haired men with yellow pads writing off baby boys in kackies.
Ya gotta paint the world white and blue so it aint that horrid red.
Dulce et decorum est pro patria amori.
In the name of fair glory,
while the one's that sit at home
wives at home to pay the debts
    children in the dark.*

Thanks!  I am thrilled that you like it.  I love those words written by you and your friend.  You have more song writing talent than I do.  I've written very few songs, and only occasionally does some type of situation occur that strikes me emotionally in such a way that I feel the urge to write a song about it.

On your question - I don't know.  I just "twiggle the knobs" until I get something that sounds the best (or not as bad) to me.
