arm button disappears!

Hi everyone!

i am hoping someone understands why i have this problem, and would be very gratefull for any help!

i want to route my MPC plugin (or for example arturia spark) into an audio track to record it. Now, the moment i select 'mpc' as the input source for my audio track, the record button of the audio track disappears and i cannot record the incoming data to the audio track....

I cant understand why the arm button disappears!

Thanks!!!

Well, for one, you can't record the output of a plugin directly into an audio track withouty first creating a patch point from the source track into a new track. That's just the way the architecture works. As to why the arm button is disabled when you select the MPC, is the MPC an audio interface?

    hello Dan!

i use the mpc as a plugin into sonar x1.

i then select a new audio track, and choose the input to be mpc stereo 1/2. Then i DO get audio into that new audio track, but cannot record. You said something about a patch point, how do i do this?

    thank you ;)

Synth recording and patch points were not introduced until last year in Platinum. The only way to 'record' soft synth output in X1 in real time is to route the audio from a physical output to an input on your audio interface (or via internal/virtual patch if your interface mixer app supports it). The usual way of 'rendering' soft synth output to file in earlier versions of SONAR is to Freeze, Bounce or Export the track.
