Sonar Platinum - TH3 - How to play in real time

Hey everyone,

I have Sonar Platinum and I can't seem to get TH3 to recognize my guitar when playing it real time.  All the videos on Cakewalk show this is possible.  I can use the TH3 plugin as an FX after recording during playback only.  How do I get it, so I can hear TH3 at the same time I am playing in real time?  Also, was I supposed to get an authorization for TH3 when purchasing Sonar Platinum, because I didn't one.  I feel like I am missing something unless the TH3 that comes with Sonar Platinum is just FX you put on after you've recorded your guitar, which would be extremely misleading.  Can anyone shed some light on this?  Thank a million, it would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Is the input echo button enabled on the track?

    Hi,
Sonar Platinum includes specific modest version of TH3, it's part of Boutique FX Suite to be exact, means there is no additional activation required - on the other hand if you would like to have full-featured TH3, then you'll need to buy it outside of Cakewalk world,
about recording, if you have ASIO driver set up with latency no more than 10ms, then you should be able to effectively play along, you need to toggle "input echo" (right-direction amplifier icon on the audio track next to record arm button)

You have to click the master button of the TH3 and get it to recognize the inputs of your audio converter, and make sure your latency is low enough so there's no delay between playing and hearing the notes.  If you're using it within Sonar, make sure your input echo button is chosen and your track has focus.  Hope this helps.  In the future it also helps to list the specs of you system when seeking help.

    All the best,

I figured it out like 30 seconds after I wrote this thread.  SOLUTION = ENABLE INPUT ECHO ON TRACK.  *slams head on desk, lol.  Hopefully this helps someone else some time.

    Cheers!
