Question for laptop users : i7 6500u vs i76700hq performance?

I'm about to purchase a new laptop, and I'm trying to weigh in the performance of the dual core i7 6500u vs the quad core 6700hq.  It seems like more laptops are going to the 6500 for the power savings and increased battery life.  When I looked up performance benchmarks there didn't seem to be a huge difference, but I don't know what applications were being tested, and what might be the performance implications for Sonar.

Anyone currently using the i7 6500u?  How's it working with Sonar for you?

    In general:

You don't want to sacrifice significant clock-speed for more CPU cores.
If it's a choice... and there's a significant difference in clock-speed, go with the higher clock-speed.

Thanks Jim.  The 6700HQ is definitely the faster clock speed single or multi core, the 6500u is a low power processor that's being used in alot of 2 in 1 laptops, and I assume they are doing so for increased battery life.  I know that processor wise both of them are not even as powerful as my 4th gen i7.  The improvements to new generations of i7 have been for low power for battery consumption which unfortunately makes them less powerful.

I'm just curious if any one here has some real world experience with the 6500u and Sonar.  Generally I'm not working with more than 32 tracks, usually in the 16-24 range, so on my current laptop my CPU never gets above 25% on any single core.  I do like the flexibility of some of the 2 in 1 devices, but I don't want to go there if Sonar is going to be laggy.
