When Every Song Is Sung-Next Beatle Experiment :)

Howdy folks, for those of you who are interested this https://soundcloud.com/aaudiomystiks/when-every-song-is-sung-ill-still-love-you is my next Beatle experiment.  Although, technically not a Beatle track, just a George Harrison one, which Ringo used and George never finished.

I've tried to combine, so to speak, George and Ringo to create a composite track.  I'm pretty close to being able to sequence Ringo's drums, remember he plays them backwards, and I've almost mastered the midi effects quantize and velocity.  I have mastered them in the my latest track, which I finished after this.

There is also varispeed on the 'Ringo' vocals, which is the chorus...I actually song this two octaves lower, around about, for some reason lol.  There is also some melodyne three part harmonies.

Finally, what I did discover with this track and when trying to get a more human feel, was the famous Beatle back beat.  Ringo's drums on some compositions and some parts of songs sits just behind McCartney's bass...giving a fat back beat.  I've managed to replicate this, via midi effects and my own bass part, which I played on guitar and used Guitar Rig 4s Octave Pedal...works too, the Octave Pedal bass.  For the most part, I've kept the human bass feel, but touched it up with either Audio Snap or Meloydyne.

Enjoy Ben

Wow, loved that!  It's weird but for some reason I hear Ringo singing this instead of George.  Did ringo release it separately?

wow dude. this was really unique to hear/ refreshing artistic Beatles-esque vision spirit of George Martin. Love George's solo.  kinda reminds me of those unfinished posthumous Lennon song projects that came out like Free As A Bird etc- nice work here

Yes, Ringo does a great version...george hated it and sued Ringo lol. Look up a george and Ringo interview from the 80s on YouTube hilarious. Ringo is off his face. I loved ringos version but you can't get it here in Oz, so I thought ok I will do my own version.

Thanks Daren. I've worked tirelessly to understand the history of production, and now within a sonic arts paradigm.

The trick with the guitars, is double and triple tracking. Because I was slightly out of form, when I played the lead lines, and because digital is unforgiving in regards to time and pitch, I took my slightly imperfect guitar tracks, which were fed into a vox amp emulator and melodyned them. Then I combined slightly imperfect guitar track with fixed, and fed these two into a wha emulator. The slide is triple tracked, I actually keep the imperfect, and the fixed and then use melodyne to pitch shift it, I can't remember to where, to create a sitar type vibe. I could have probably played the guitar tracks perfectly with practice, but ADHD...the whole track only took me 4 days...and by 'cheating' I figured out the secret to really thick, warm transients...a problem with digital recordings.

    Thanks Ben.
