Locked track height question

Hello, new Sonar user here, coming from Pro Tools. Sorry if this is a noob question - is there any way to lock the track height permanently, and have set track heights for all tracks, like in Pro Tools? I see a lock track height option, but this seems to be per track, and related to zooming/fit command. Thanks!

In X3, you right-click in the track pane and check Set As Default Height.
You can still minimize the tracks, but expanding them goes to your set height.
I don't know about later versions.

typically I select all tracks, hold SHIFT and set the height of the track header (by clicking and dragging the header size).
when you let go of the mouse button, all track headers are adjusted to that size equally.

then as Greg said, lock the header (set as default)

no probs T nipe.

I create different screensets because i like to use different size track headers depending on what im doing
(tracking/recording, editing, automation, exc). Each screen set will remember your track height.
You can create them and then lock them. For example:

screenset 1 - will remember small track headers for tracking = recording mode
screenset 2 - will remember large track headers = good for editing / automation)
screenset 3 - will remember jumbo track headers = 1 track fills up the whole screen.
screenset 4 - is my PRV = rather than opening/closing docks.

this way you don't have to screw around adjusting header sizes all the time.
*just remember: after creating a screenset click on the drop down menu and select "lock screenset".
You can always go back to original screensets by going back that same drop down menu and selecting
"return to defaults".

taking it a step further...
-you can import these same screensets in to your next new project.
-just open the new project, then open the project you created your screensets in.
-go to new projects / screensets drop down menu / import screensets.

This is a lot to digest and your probably thinking ""I just want to know how to set my track height man""
but its good to know for future reference. it really speeds up the process when starting new projects.

Happy jams

Chuck

Can the screensets be saved as a Project level template?  That way you would not have to import them...

that's what I typically do. save them as part of my templates.
but you cant always have a template for everything. this is where the import feature comes in handy.
as well as working on older projects you might not have had screensets set up for.

the screensets remember a lot more data than people know.
combine that with templates, you save yourself so much time vs setting up each project like the old days.
when I used to have to "Save as" an empty project = that was my project template.
