GOU Falling Outside The Normal Moral Constraints
Hi Peeps, I have created yet another ambient soundscape dedicated to the late Iain M. Banks, creator of many an excellent sci-fi novel. https://soundcloud.com/synkrotron/gou-falling-outside-the-normal Absynth 5 was used in liberal amounts, with the odd instance of Hive, Korg Polysix, ARP2600 and Moog Modular. And copious amounts of delay and reverb, even though you don't get that in a vacuum cheers andy

That was an interesting 9:00 minuets, I would love to hear a 5.1 mix.
The Arp and Moog from Arturia Andy? nice mix works well here.

very cool again Andy - as Wookiee says above, this would be amazing in 5.1 with a big subwoofer too. Your attention to detail is amazing - so meticulous. Have you tried scoring video? How about finding some stock scifi video and putting a soundtrack to it?

Sonically, this is one of the best ambient pieces I've heard. I'd like to listen to this in headphones whilst walking around the Monterey Bay Aquarium! thanks for all the effort, it's a keeper. -Tom

Many thanks Wookiee Oooer! 5.1? You know, I've always fancied doing some 5.1 stuff but I wouldn't even know where to start. I can't even do 2.1 Yeah, I used my Arturia synths, just a little. The Modular provides a few strange sounds here and there using one of its arp presets and doesn't stand out that much to be honest. I use an arp preset from the ARP2600 too, and I don't change the preset at all I liked it that much. Again, it does not dominate the piece but is instantly recognisable. thanks for listening cheers andy

Thanks so much for listening Daryl I must admit, it's all a bit experimental, that detail, and it's more of a matter of listening and tweaking as I go. I am always amazed at the sounds that come out of my lappy haha! I would love to be able to score something because it would then make me think even more about where "things happen" throughout the track. cheers andy

Wow! Tom... Thanks for that. I really appreciate your time, especially when it comes to listening to the stuff that I am currently doing. It is so far removed from what I was producing a year or so ago, and I am really enjoying the process. All the comments here make that process all the more enjoyable. cheers andy

Just done a quick google for "stock sci-fi footage" and it's frightening! £50 plus for a thirty second clip, and I'm creating nine minutes of audio for jack... Might struggle on this one Daryl, but I'll keep searching

Yeah, that's one of the sites I was looking at Daryl. I think the keyword "free" relates to royalty free. They still wan't anything from £8 and up for clips lasting less than a minute. Makes me wonder if I should take up some 3D CGI stuff myself. I used to use 3D Studio Max, many years ago but I don't think I'd manage it now. I did find some so called "free" stuff but the download links were just "google adds." I'll keep trying

Very nice... I think this may be one of your better pieces, and I've pretty much liked them all. It moves forward in a smooth fashion, never becoming static yet still very much "formless". Oh, and +1 to the 5.1 references - that would be a trip!

Wow! Thanks Steve I'd love to do 5.1 some time... Do I need a 5.1 sound card? I'll have to have a look into that... cheers andy
