Been a fan of DM since the '80s. Violator and the extended single EPs that followed sure rocked my socks.
Nice arrangement, and props on the vocals. Run me a River, indeed! Enjoyed the listen.

Nice work on this cover, you did take quite a different spin on this song. Had to go back and listen to the original as I hadn't heard it for years. Their version was more DM does their version of roadhouse blues, whereas yours is more refined. I like it and I can hear the detail that went into the programming.

This is a great cover, and one that (if Gahan's vocals were swapped in for yours) could have been an alternate take for them. You've made it your own, but still kept that late 80's DM feel.

Second listening. Much higher volume (not worried what the dogs think  ). Was great at lower volume. Now? Blown the f*** away! My primary music magnet is movement. Does it make me move? Can I stop myself from moving while listening? If no, then AWESOME! Bookmarked! OK, repeat! Turned it up some more. Dogs moved down a floor. Fools. Y'all got twice the legs. Oughta have twice the moves. Knuckleheads. Keeps getting better! Love it!

Ha ha! I followed up Violator with the Policy Of Truth and World In My Eyes EPs! The Capitol Mix of Policy Of Truth and the Oil Tank Mix of World In My Eyes are especially good. Both remixes by Francois Kevorkian. Just put Ultra on. Dense!

I have had many *happy moments* with depeche mode music playing. Dancing, making love...being in altered states. I never saw them live. I'm afraid that if they did a tour and I went to a concert I'd be one of those embarrassing grand dad's they always show on concert footage, just to emphasize broad demography. A lot of my friends still go to madonna concerts, it should be a crime. Oh how youth is wasted on the young!

I've listened to a bit of DM back in the day (the Mrs. really liked them) and I faintly remember this song, but I have to say your take on this is really exceptional. Your vocals really stood out....very natural, fitting, and expressive. I also enjoyed the synths you used on this....everything worked out perfectly (very good mix too).
