Sonar Speed??

Any plans on trying to speed up the actions in sonar platinum more? Sonar 8 is a lot quicker in response time with the basic functioning. Even the saving process takes longer with the same projects. I love a lot of the new features but the sluggishness is definitely bothersome.

Im the exact opposite? Sonar/win10, fastest it's ever been for me. It does require a good system however.

Same as MacFurse. Windows 8.1 and Platinum fly's compared to sonar 8.
I couldn't even think of going back to that version.

Well, I never made the move to X because when I demoed them it was too buggy for me.  Have you directly compared the two with same project? 8 is considerably faster on most all fronts.  PC is pretty decent here.  i5 3.1 quad core with 16 gigs of ram

another thing to look out for....playback start time is slowed a good amount when the linear phase eq is set to linear...  work around is to set it to non-linear until you are ready to render.

Do you have the latest version of Sonar 8 installed?  I know that version is behind in the years and Sonar Platinum had an audio engine overhaul.   I am really loving Sonar Platinum.    I used to think Sonar 8.5 was the best ever, but now that I have Sonar Platinum I retracted that statement.

Yes, I have 8.3 I think. Platinum is really awesome, but the sluggishness compared to 8 is disappointing.

    its all good Cory,

we can see about speeding things up for you.
typically slow start can be solved by adjustments in preferences. I will get a look later to see which one it is.
its been so long since ive had to adjust it I have forgotten but I used to have to in the early pro audio days.
I believe its due to Audio driver latency.

Important: List out your specs / Audio interface / OS your using.
Filling out your signature would be even better

Once we know what your using then we can suggest some modifications and get you running a bit faster.
im sure you'll agree once these adjustments are made that Platinum has a greater response time
    than 8.5 ever did.

Many great things about Sonar 8 (Sonar 8.5) but Platinum has raised the bar with a wealth of new features.
first thing I would do if I were you is use the Custom Module to set up like your old control bar looked.
the X versions / Platinum does not have the Save button, exc on the control bar.
So use the Custom module to your advantage and create some new custom buttons
like it was in that version, IE-reminiscent of Sonar 8.

will get into putting that in my signature as soon as I get the chance. Currently still in a session.  my interface is a Lynx aes16e  running mytek converters into that...not that that should matter...and I'm on windows 10   i5 3.1 quad core with 16 gigs of ram
