4K Monitor options

Amazon Prime Day came and went, and I ended up with a 4k , 43" monitor that I now have in my studio. I also upgraded my video card (Gigabit UHD with 4 gb ram).
 
I did this so that:
a. I could get more desktop space on a single monitor. Instead of spreading things across multiple I should be able to get everything on one monitor.
b. I could push the monitor off my keyboard desk (so it's not as close to my eyes and reflecting sound from the speakers).
 
Unfortunately, by default, the Sonar app just got "bigger" on screen - it didn't scale down so I could fit more on the monitor. I believe there is a way to make Sonars resolution work better with the UHD resolution, but I couldn't find it in Help or on the forums.
 
Is there a way to do this? Am I describing this sufficiently?

I looked at some 4K TVs the last time I was at BestBuy. They were VERY expensive. One was playing a loop from a BluRay disk of some X-Men movie (I think). It was so clear and life like that it looked so real it looked fake, if that makes sense. It looked like people on a stage in front of me instead of a movie. I don't know how to explain it but it was a bit too realistic. IDK, maybe it is just me.
So, does a 4k monitor help with Sonar? I've heard people say that a monitor over about 23" is too much, or past the optimal size for the application. I have a 32" LG PLANAR monitor and sometimes I like to make the Sonar window smaller than the screen size. I do like the multi-touch but I don't like the way it leans back. I'm going to get a stand to clamp to the back of my desk so I can have it exactly where I want it, it will lay almost flat but I'd have to stand and lean over to use it that way.
I'll be interested to see how this works for you and what you think of the 4K with Sonar.

increase your resolution.
make sure you have downloaded and installed the correct graphics card driver.
don't expect miracles, I use a 42 inch and sonar is bigger. however with that comes more precise readings, edits and over all clarity.

Scaling was the answer. For some reason Win 8.1 defaulted to a higher scaling. I pushed it back to 100% and it went in the direction I wanted. I'm going to have to play with it a bit more and I think I'll probably end up at about 150%. My biggest challenge is probably going to be dealing with all of the plug ins as many of them don't scale very well.
 
I wanted more space, and I got it. I'm not going to complain anymore :)
 
Thanks for all the ideas, but in the end it was the scaling that did the trick.
