Sound City Recording Studio Movie

I am sure some of you guys have seen this movie, or maybe have heard of it.
I knew nothing of the movie until last night when I watched it three years after it came out.
I couldn't turn away from it. It was a very enjoyable documentary.
I can see how some folks wouldn't care too much for it, but seeing that we are into music and recording
I figured that people around here would enjoy it. I would like to own it on DVD and watch it again from time to time.
I enjoyed it that much.
If you haven't watched it you should find it and watch it. I happened to catch it on VH1 Classic.

You can't hear unless it's recorded?  You must not be much fun live then, ya?

Actually, I am way behind with anything movie/TV related.
I swore off TV for about 5 years. It was a good thing.
In a way it's too bad that I turned it back on.
It tries to take up too much of your free time.

I can't remember what the avatar is all about.
At one time it meant something, I think.
It was something to do with a musical piece I was working with.

Good movie.... yeah I remember parts of it.

Another good one is The Wrecking Crew... if you haven't already seen that one.  It reveals that much of the music we grew up with in the 60's was not the bands playing, but a select, elite, group of studio musicians.... (Gasp!!!) which the band musicians then had to learn how to play "their" songs, which explains why many of the 60's bands were not as good in concert as their records were.

That would be my production model.  I'll come up with the songs, then have musicians that can actually play them record them in the studio.  The big difference is that I'd also recruit other musicians to play them live.  Yeah, that could work!
