Excellent tune and production, my only crit being that I'd like to hear the vocals a bit more prominently.

Nice tune. Needs more production IMO. The whole track comes across very low-mid heavy (muffled).

I'll be honest with you....the vocal didn't record well, but I was happy with how I sung it, so I kept it! It meant that it couldn't be any higher in the mix though. bapu Nice tune. Needs more production IMO. The whole track comes across very low-mid heavy (muffled).
Listening now, the bass is quite heavy isn't it. I think the 'muffling' comes from the vocal take being such a poor quality audio recording. Good feedback, thank you.

See, this is why I rarely comment on mixing and engineering. I obviously don't have the ear for it. I'm hearing a completely perfectly engineered piece, great arrangement, awesome vocals that I wouldn't turn up one tick at all, perfectly sitting in the mix, to me. Nice job on the song.

Thank you! That's really encouraging to hear. I love posting on this forum because it was thanks to guys on here (including Bapu of course) that I learned how to mix. I started a few years ago making AWFUL mixes and have improved mix by mix. In the end, it still comes down to the listener's preferences/home monitors/room acoustics/mood at the time of listening/expectations of the genre etc...

Personally, it was the lyrics I really liked on this one. I can relate. Stellar song.

Yeah its a loud one isn't it! Again, probably to paper over the poor vocal quality. eph221 Personally, it was the lyrics I really liked on this one. I can relate. Stellar song.
The lyrics are very personal in this one, definitely. My dad is one of my biggest fans - and these days, I'm one of his too. We didn't always have a great relationship - he's not heard this one yet, so we might have to have a chat about it! I'm really happy you can relate. Thats nice to know.

I think your songs are a cut above and well suited to todays pop culture. If your not already gigging live you should be to build your fan base. If you don't have real muso's to back you use these tracks as backing they are very good. I really enjoy your music. Good luck on your musical journey.

Production and sound is different with each listener. Well the production and sound isn't, but the listener hears it their own way. I love bass so I liked the mix. You have a really nice voice and the song is great. I was reading the lyrics while listening and I am a bit confused. Doesn't matter, lyrics are cool and either mean something to you or just came out. I've done both. I just saw the comment above about your father. Cool, I hope that you get what you need out of the relationship. I look forward to more of your music.

nice song daylaa, reminds me of a cross between owl city style and coldplay... i hear what others are mentioning about the vocal mix, the vox is performed well, but the capture doesn't match the performance. one thing i've learned over the years... whenever i say 'can't beat that performance' when i have a capture issue, i ALWAYS beat that performance. just record it over, but get the eq, compression, gain structure, etc, all dialed in.

Daylaa, Good song and performances. I think if you pull the bass back and push the Lead Vox up a bit that would make for a huge improvement. Vocal performance is really good. Regards

Ditto to the comment above - the lead vocal could use a little love, not least of which because the harmonies/BGVs panned outward sound really good. It is a good song - as Bats said it deserves that little extra push.

I've been listening to some songs posted here today and I have to say this the very best one I've heard so far. Seriously, all technical critiques being made aside, this is a great song. Nice retro vibe with a modern appeal. Solid and fun. We sometimes get caught up in the technical side of production and we forget to ask the most important question..."Does it Jam?" This my friend does jam. The rest is gravy.

I agree fresh. It could be in the realm of *classics* IMHO. I've heard several on this website that sort of transcend pigeon holing. He's very talented. I'm insanely jealous.
