Anyone else having tempo issues with Loop Loft drum loops?`

I have purchased a number of drum loops from Loop Loft. They're generally ok, but some play only at 1/2 speed.

Ex: The stated tempo for a given loop is 77bpm, for an 8-beat loop.
Sonar reads (in loop construction view) as 154bpm and 16 beats.
With the project tempo set at 77, the loop plays very slow and choppy (apparently at ~38bpm).
In order to get the loop to play at 77bpm, the project tempo must be set to 154.
This is, of course not workable, because the 8 beat loop is now spread out over 4 measures (should be 2 measures).
So now there are double the proper no. of measures, making audio recording untenable, and any 'normal' loops added to the project will be playing at double tempo.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? Is it possible to edit the bpm and number of beats on an audio loop? (.wav or .rex2).
What am I missing? Or do I need to just lose those oddball loops?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Hi Scott,
If I remember correctly, most audio loops (.Wav files) only have a certain range the BPM can be increased or decreased before they start losing quality......REX files are more flexible.

Are the Loop Loft files themselves playing ok (without doing any editing in Sonar)?

I've found thru the years that one man's 75 bpm can often be 150 bpm and vice versa.

That said, loop loft waves are not always acidized at all.  I had a big problem with them on that. Finally settled on the rex files.

For less hassle, buy the REX versions from Loop Loft when possible.

Not at Sonar at the moment, but I believe if you right click the wave and choose Clip properties, you can change it to 8 beat, and it should become a two bar loop.

Hey, Thanks to everyone who replied. I was able to fix the problem with your inputs, and it was simple -duh.

For some reason, Sonar has been reading these particular  8-beat .wav files as 16 beats.

In loop construction view, with looping enabled, the no. of beats field can be edited.

After correcting back to 8 beats in loop construction, they now play back at the correct tempo!
