Can't paste into track lanes...

I'm using the latest Platinum release.  I'm having to move all my audio from one project to another due to an issue with comping not working properly.  I am able to copy audio clips from one project to another using Ctrl-C and Alt+Ctrl-V as long as I'm pasting to tracks.  I can paste into a take lane, but when I create another take lane and try to paste another take using the same technique, the paste causes my previous take lane to go blank.

So far this has been 8 hours of frustration.  I've got 30 minutes of guitar takes and I can't use them.  Not in my first project.  And I can't get them into my second project (other than as individual tracks.)  Screw it.  I'll just record the guitar part over again...

I have run into this, so I copy the take to a track then I can shift drag it to the lane (shift is to keep the time position)

If you select the source audio track that contains Take lanes, hit Ctrl+C and then select the destination audio track (that has no Take lane) and hit Ctrl+V, Take lanes will automatically be created in the track and all the takes will be pasted into them, won't they?

Cut and Paste for Take Lanes is a hit and miss affair, and has been since they were first added. I don't get why such and important feature as cut and paste has not been addressed by the bakers.  It must be a too-hard.

There are also major issues when cutting and pasting whole multiple tracks. These even predate take lane issues.

I have found work arounds for all of them. For example, when cutting and pasting whole sections of a project, I create a space in teh project using the add time feature exactly equal to what I am going to paste in. I can't use the regular paste feature because sometimes some tracks are moved the same amount and some will move wonky. No rhyme or reason.

My best advice is this: know it's not you.  Experiment with work arounds.

I wish this most basic of all features in a DAW worked.

Based on the Early Access release announcement it looks like they may have dealt with this issue.

I too have never really been able to do straight Copy/Pasta within lanes so just always used Ctrl + Shift + drag. It's annoying (especially waiting for the Track View to scroll past a ton of lanes and/or other tracks) but it's generally foolproof.

Certainly hoping the new lane/comping improvements help.

    Cheers.
