Are the team at Cakewalk planning on releasing more themes?
Just wondering if more 'official' themes will be released. I really really like tungsten and would love to see what else they come up with.

They are all very nice...
Too bad bout the colored strips (Mercury) getting lost...
I hope some fix happens for this soon as for me, I'd like a blend of mercury's colored strips (or a modified/outline version) with tungsten's dark frame etc...

New themes are so low on my list of priorities for Sonar developers that they have fallen off the bottom of the list. I can see how users who are getting bored with music and have some design talents would want to jazz up their own interface, but I really hope the theme nonsense is not going to take any more development time or money than it already has.

I want color strips with a dark Tungsten-like theme too! It just makes recognition better for me as in knowing what tracks are what at just a glance. For now, I'll stick with Mercury.

slartabartfast I can see how users who are getting bored with music and have some design talents would want to jazz up their own interface There is actually a very utilitarian aspect. I've made the timeline much more readable, and done things like change the mono/stereo interleave button so the mono symbol is red. I usually don't want mono, so this makes it easy to parse which channels are mono when looking over the console view. Ditto in phase/out of phase. This kind of tweak takes very little time with the theme editor. I really hope the theme nonsense is not going to take any more development time or money than it already has. The tool already existed for Cakewalk to develop the user interface. All they really needed to do was make it public-friendly. I don't think people working on things like bug fixes and such are doing the themes.

'IS the team at Cakewalk planning on releasing more themes?' Yes. Since I don't have Splat, my guess as to why Tungsten lost colored strips is, X1 & 2 use "painted" strip backgrounds. X3 uses transparent strip backgrounds to accommodate the new colored strip feature. Tungsten must be using "painted" backgrounds like X1 & 2 making colored strips inoperable. It's fair to say that the X series was not originally designed to support all this color and theme changing. As a result, there will be compromises we will have to live with. To make the X series GUI fully customizable, they will need to re-engineer it from scratch. And that won't be happening anytime soon.

For what it's worth I actually like the way the tracks are coloured in Tungsten. Now that the track name and headers stay at the bottom in console view I don't find it hard to follow.

Theme development takes zero development time - it is done by graphic artists. We plan on releasing a new official light theme at some point. It won't be very soon however.
